Beyond the Classroom

Literary & Arts Club

The school has an active Literary & Arts Club which organises various activities for the students. Literary activities include debates, storytelling, elocution, recitation, story writing, essay writing, versification, seminars, public speaking etc. Artistic activities span the full spectrum of creative skills - vocal and instrumental music; dances; drawing and painting; sculpture and craft; and much more.

Health Club

The School Health Club conducts frequent free health check-ups for students under the ArogyaSai Programme, under the supervision of expert doctors. Workshops and awareness camps are also held regularly to instill a strong sense of health and hygiene among the children. Students are also encouraged to play an active role in bringing the same awareness about healthy living to their families and the local people.

Tourism Club

The School Tourism Club conducts inter-school quiz competitions, debates, field trips to places of ecological importance and programmes for revival of dying art forms. This helps children develop and interest, pride and love for their locality; this in turn will enable them to respect and preserve their land and its many attractions.

Maths Club

The School Maths Club makes models based on mathematical theorems and conducts quiz competitions and training programmes in Abacus, maths and naughty maths. Apart from developing their academic skills, the Maths Club activities hone students' skills in practical application of mathematics in their daily lives.

Agricultural and Environmental Activities

The School Eco-Club promotes organic farming by preparing and distributing vermicompost, chemical-free soap and mushroom cultivation materials. The Club has initiated paddy cultivation festival as part of 'HarithaSai' Project. An awareness campaign to save electricity, collecting and removing plastic waste, and celebrating Environment Day are also some of the activities of the Club.

Drama/Theatre

Theatre and dramatics form an interesting part of the extra-curricular activities at SKPS. Students are trained and encouraged to participate in various types of plays and dramatic productions. This enables them to be confident, expressive and strong communicators.

Films

Regular film shows and related events at the school expose children to the technology of film making as well as the cinematic culture of different countries of the world. Educational films, documentaries, social awareness campaigns and children’s films supplement the academic curriculum.

Sports & Games

SKPS has full-fledged facilities for various sports and games within the campus. Students are exposed to physical education and a healthy exercise schedule. They are also given formal training in various sports and athletics to prepare them to participate in sporting events and competitions with other schools in the locality, across the state and also at a national level.

Charity

Student Education Enrichment Programme Through Adoption (SEETA) was launched at SKPSto enhance the standard of education of students from very poor families by 'adoption', or sponsorship of their educational expenses. The Public are encouraged to participate in this programme by sponsoring the expenses. Along with receipts for their contribution, the sponsors are given a brief description of the beneficiary child, information of his/her academic activities, photos of activities in which he/she is involved, and conditional meeting and interaction with the child.
